I have made friends with people around the world. My English is better than before. I am now more independent and mature. NTU was a good choice for me.
NTU is a good place to be a student. It is located in the heart of Nottingham and it is therefore convenient for students. You will find everything you need and there are many entertainment options. The facilities are good, for example the Boots library is newly built with many new computers, printers and self-study tables. Local students are very helpful to us. I always have a good time with them in pubs every Friday where we meet to socialise and have a good chat. I have a much wider exposure through studying here.
The best thing about Nottingham is the pubs in rural areas like those near Sherwood Forest. They are quiet and nicely decorated. They serve proper traditional English food. Two people have impressed me so much since my arrival last summer. They are my English teachers on the summer course, Diane Schmitt and Lezli Ataker. They are not only experienced in teaching English as a second language but also very good at presenting information. They are nice, humorous and helpful to international students. Whenever I have had difficulties in adapting to life here, from minor things such as hair cuts to important things such as opening a bank account, they were always the first one to help. I really enjoy and miss their lectures.
