NUS provides their students with a vibrant campus life. You get to interact much with your fellow university mates a lot and it's easy to get to know a lot of people through the events organised by the school, be it orientation, movie outings, etc. These have added colour to the school curriculum and made my 3 years here so far very enjoyable. My advice I would give to anyone thinking of studying at my university would be, don't be afraid to open up yourself, be it to university mates or tutors. Expand your own comfort zone and you find yourself being rewarded in ways you'll never imagine.
For singaporeans it was more or less a straightforward application process right after you've finished your 2 years of study at a junior college. For my batch it was relatively easy to gain admission, but certain years it may be quite competitive.
There are various scholarships and bursaries available to students and these options are explained and made available to students on their first day of school
The course is very much in depth and well structured out. It is rigorous but also enriching although it can get pretty stressful at times. We have approximately 20 hours a week of lesson time but we also have to spend time on projects outside curriculum time. Our lecturers and tutors are helpful and are often willing to stay back and answer any questions we have about the modules they teach.
The facilities are extremely adequate, from sports facilities, computer services on campus as well as on campus accomodation. The students are friendly and the on campus accomodation is affordable at about 65 dollars a week and provides a room with bed, phone line, internet access and toilet. The Student Union is a very active group looking to provide NUS students with a vibrant and exciting on campus life, as well as bringing NUS's name outside NUS in the form of event, for example charity fund raising events is one way we can reach out to the public as well as to our students as well I have personally joined the National University of Singapore Students Union (NUSSU) Public Relations Unit (PRU). NUSSU PRU is a standing club under NUSSU and is in charge of hyping up the campus, basically a image doyen of NUSSUto NUS Students. We organize on campus concerts, as well as camps and events related to our Students Union. Hosting of internation students are under NUSSU PRU as well and we've hosted students from Korea and Japan, basically helping them adjust to our school as well as Singapore life.
NUS Business School has a Career Services Office which is specially dedicated to brand our school to prospective companies looking to hire business or accounting graduates. The Career Services Office has good connections with the top finance institutions and banks as well as accounting firms and many of NUS graduates are able to secure a job there after they have finished their studies. This has definitely increased my own job prospects. The NUS Business Alumni is strong and there is also a NUSSU alumni for graduates who have finished their studies in NUS. All who have graduated from NUS are automatically admitted into the Alumni.
