The university experience was very great. But the workload as a research student was horrible for me. I really wanted to quit as I think I could not handle it. But I gradually get used to it, and I am very happy that I finally make it. My advice: Try hard to study and whatever the results are, you will be successful.

It was very difficult to get in a research programme. I was successful in my application for a scholarship. The procedure for the admission is pretty fast. We just followed the instructions from the admin people.

I was awarded the ASEAN scholarship. The scholarship was really good. It provides tuition fee and living expense. In order to secure financial assistance, you need to study hard, very hard. I studied all day in teh Uni lab.

The course was very good, but it was very hard-working tough. I tried very hard to finish all the work by the supervisors. I received all kinds of support, but my English is not very good, so I had difficulties communicating with people. I needed to publish in refereed-journals to pass the annual reviews of the Uni to continue my candidature.

My life as a research student was very hard. I did not have time for myself to enjoy the new things in life. Many times I wanted to quit, but I could not. I did not participate in extra curricular activities because I did not have time. I did not join them so I did not have many friends . I would strongly recommend that you should join them to have more friends if you decide to study in postgraduate research degrees.

The job prospects were very good. I was offered a job as a research assistant in a uni back in Vietnam. I was very happy. I could become a professor in my area later on.
