The overall experience of my MBA Finance was remarkable and will always stay memorable. The cohort was particularly attractive given their culturally and professionally diverse backgrounds. Also, the facilities at DBS for academic and professional development purposes were impressive.

The DBS world class faculty of experts and CPD (continual professional development) staff were consistently making every effort to organise and complement our formal lectures and classes with a broad range of events aimed at developing the profile, personality and the essential ‘soft skills' sought by high calibre MBA Finance students. The exciting team-building exercise during the orientation week; the unique and highly acclaimed Boardroom Activity throughout the first term; the structured series of business finance workshops and seminars by high-flying speakers and practitioners; the visiting tour of the London financial industry and last but not the least, the International Week that took place just before our business projects began, undeniably provided the cohort with a precious list of core values and principles on top of the normal academic rigour which can be expected from the syllabus of a top-ranked UK University such as Durham. I particularly appreciated the great flexibility in terms of choice of elective modules as well as the efforts to which the School went to match my business project/research interests with the best brains that Durham could provide. As such, I had the tremendous opportunity to work for my project/dissertation under the supervision of a world-renowned expert in the field of Islamic Banking and Finance. This innovative and fast growing theme of finance was a thing that I was eagerly looking forward to do for my business project and DBS was fully committed to helping me realise my aim.
