It is one of the best times I have in my life. Compared to other universities, the academic might be average, but there is so many students involvement in the university. Perhaps the most interesting fact is that you can exchange to other 2 campuses in Malaysia and China. It is an opportunity not to be missed.
Similar to other UK universities, you need to apply via UCAS and accept the offer . Selection process might be tough depending on which subject of your choice. Visa application is virtually smooth after you gain the entry
For international students, funding is quite difficult, but I believe it is the same for other UK universities. British students have great student support service to help them apply for funds.
My course is the most sought out in the faculty, so competition is high. The academic focus more on independent study rather than spoon feeding, so results is based on the amount of effort I believe. Academic support wise is excellent when the lecturer or tutor is available, though you might need to book an appointment and contact hour is little for some. Yes it is value for money, but I think some part of the tuition fees contributed to the maintenance of the big campus and advertising
The campus is great, almost everything required by a student is available and request could be made on new facilities. The city has great night out places and the people are great. Accommodation is not a big problem as they have a student run agency Unipol to sort things out. Part time jobs is also available for students in the universities and student union is perhaps the best in entertaining us. Wide variety of clubs and societies, almost anything you can think of. There are also international student support team and they organize tours around UK.
Job prospects wise it definitely helped me especially on the international experience. There is a career service available and could provide short time job and future jobs/intern-ship. Companies hire a lot of graduates from my university ( at least it seems to be).
