The Bachelor of Biotechnology program is heavily grounded in all aspects of scientific breakthrough in the world today. I have access to lecturers who are active researchers too. What strikes me as the most unique aspect of the program was the application of the Keepad Clickers in the lectures to enhance my studies. There has also been plenty of student support from lecturers and peer-assisted study sessions to assist in my learning. There were practical sessions in the program which definitely made my learning experience at UQ much richer and more meaningful. Besides introducing me to core technical skills involved in scientific studies, the practical sessions allowed me to witness the application of the knowledge presented in lectures, thereby making my studies at UQ more interesting.

I wanted to experience a culture different from my own without the expense of travelling too far from home and Australia was the perfect place. UQ was automatically my first choice in doing my course as it is a research intensive university which complements my studies. Incidentally, UQ is one of the most beautifully-landscaped universities in Australia too. I cherish the beauty of the land and the friendliness of the people in Australia. I have made a lot of friends here who had been an immense help to me in the process of adjusting myself to the different cultures and surroundings here. The Malaysian Student Association at UQ was also instrumental in making me feel "at home" in a foreign land. In other words, I felt less homesick because I had friends who made me feel accepted here.
