I was pretty impressed with the program as it was very interesting. Studying abroad is a wonderful experience which Ill cherish throughout my life. All the best for all the future students.
For the admission process the basic requisites were the 12th Std board results. My university required a minimum score of 6.5 in IELTS. I did not attend any coaching classes and prepared for it on my own using past exam papers and IELTS DVDs. I got a score of 7.5. I used the services of International Placement Services (IPS) in Delhi to help me with the application process. My visa interview was very easy. They asked only basic questions about the university and course. I flew Virgin Atlantic and though there was no student fare offered we were allowed an extra baggage of 23 kgs. I landed at Heathrow, the university offers a meet and greet but only from Manchester airport so I could not make use of that service. Did not face any immigration issues.
The program was very interesting and the professors and lecturers are highly talented and excellent in conveying the ideas. The are extremely helpful even with the smallest of questions and organize lots of tutorials and question-answer sessions.
Iam presently living at self-catered university owned partnership accommodation called Opal One, in a studio room. It is a comfortable experience living in university accommodation in terms of safety, security and excellent services. The lecture halls are good and we have more than a million books in the 3 libraries.
The university provides lots of placement opportunities and the students union has a job center which helps students to get jobs. Campus placement is definitely possible. Students would basically need an NI (National Insurance) number to get employed whether its a summer internship or a 1 year job. The alumni network is strong with the university.
