Hi Friends! I feel that Aston is a really good university to take up ones higher studies. Though I am in the first batch here, I can say that the programme is well structured and we have good faculty. We have well defined syllabus and practicals also. I am also happy that placements are possible at ease at Aston.
For coming to ASTON, I had to clear my IELTS exam. I have got 7 bands during that, I did not go to any coaching classes and it is easy to prepare on our own if we have the material with us, going through some practice papers fetches good marks. British council is the best option I would suggest. I have used counselors services for coming to this university, It was GLOBAL OPPURTUNITIES IN HYDERABAD. They assisted me with the VISA processing and I did not face any difficulty with the processing, for success at an interview proper financial documents are important. To Birmingham, there are connecting flights and I came through Emirates, but the best is Jet airways where we get student fares and excess baggage is allowed. I did not face any problems at immigration office and the university picked me at the airport as a part of meet and greet service.
The programme is well structured and we have good faculty. We have well defined syllabus and practicals also. We have good lecture halls and a big library. We have many student societies which we can join according to our interest.
I am staying in an on campus accommodation which has all good facilities and it is cheaper than outside accommodation. Birmingham is very cold. There is a Bhalaji Temple here. It is very big and very systematic like our Indian temples. Shopping is quite costly in Birmingham. But there are certain departmental stores which has good quality and low price. Moreover it is very crowded and The Bull Ring is very famous which is the biggest shopping mall here.
My university has a job shop through which placements are possible at ease. We have to register with them for the jobs and they will keep us informed throughout. Aston has a separate office for visa and work permits and it is very easy through them. I am in the first batch so I am not having seniors in this subject.
