My life is Melbourne is fine. I have changed 2 institutes since my arrival here. I was caught with visa problems like a diploma leading to degree, so I had to get that sorted out. Now I am just doing my diploma.

I am applied through an agent and they charge money for their services.

No scholarship at all. I am paying my fees by working.

I was studying commercial cookery at holmes and the standard was good. The teachers were good, I enjoyed the practical bit of the course. I studied 20 hours week. There was no issue with the teaching, the only problem was with the changing timetable. Every five weeks, our timetable was changed. This made my life quite difficult as I had other commitments too. I was working, I needed some fixed days for working but the timetable kept on changing and made it difficult for me. As a result of this, I had to change my institute.

Over here as long as you have work, you can manage things. I had some problems only at the time when I first came here in finding a job. Now, I am working and the entire experience has been a teaching one. Another problem after getting a work is the work pressure. The problem never ends. With accommodation if you have a job, you can manage otherwise again it will be another problem for you. We did have student union in our institute but that time, I was quite tied up with my visa thing. I wanted to change my visa sub class, and I was studying and working … too many things, so I gave it a miss.

I don’t want to continue studying. After completing this course, I want to work. I think the certificate I get after completing will not equal the experience I got here working part time in the kitchen. This experience will help me get jobs later on. The certificates also do contribute to my future employment prospects. At the moment, I am studying at another private institute.
