Since I spend my whole year writing essays, so the advice would be that make sure your essay writing skills fits the British style. And choose your courses carefully, as amending it is near impossible.
Visa interview was easy, didn¿t have any interview. Everything went really smoothly, got the visa the next day. I had to only present my high school results and the application letter from the university while applying for the visa. I had an entrance to test my English and Mathematics skills and/or level.Apparently I had finished high school at that time, so the entrance exam was pretty much the same as before in high school. Travel wasn¿t easy; I got my tickets straight from the airline as they were providing cheaper rates. I flew Singapore Airlines. It was excellent: the service was good, the seats were comfortable. No student Fare. I landed at Manchester Airport. I was allowed up to 25 kilos, and no dairy, fruits, or any food items were allowed on board the baggage. The uni is about 45-50 mins by Bus..The travel agent initially said that I needn¿t have to take the TB (Tuberculosis Test). But at the point of entry, they demanded me to show them my TB test, so I was held up for 45 mins as they were preparing an appointment with the doctor for check-up. There was someone there at the airport to drop me to my accommodation. That someone was the driver arranged by the University. A mini van was arranged from the airport to my accommodation.
Yes I am happy with the way the program has been structured. I have taken Mathematics, Politics, Economics, IT. Professors are pretty good; maybe giving more attention to students who are weak at certain subjects might help.
They only have a single projector as part of their facility in lecture halls. It¿s ok, the only facility they provide is full-access to the internet. Part time jobs are not so easy, job interviews are hard to get by. Social some times may be a bit offending. Night life is good, the city provides lots of places to hang-out, bars and even night clubs (about 300). The temperature ranges from 6-16 degrees, so it¿s a bit chilly (even in summer). Haven¿t joined the Indian students association.
