I think the MA will help to advance my career in the Media, as people that have a degree from a British university get better jobs when they return to China.

The difference between studying at NTU and studying in China is that the course is a lot more practical. You get to try out a lot of different methods, for example face to face interviews, telephone interviews, street surveys and research projects. I recently worked on a research project looking at the influence of TV and computer game violence on children and teenagers. This involved visiting Nottingham High School to conduct interviews with the pupils. It was really interesting though some of them didn't say very much so I had to try and encourage them to speak. Although this was difficult it was a really useful experience.

I used to work as a journalist for a television station in Guangzhou. I decided to come to NTU to study for my MA as I wanted to further my knowledge of the Media industry and gain experience of other cultures.
