Studying in Macquarie University is never an easy task. Huge amount of time should be spent on studying to pass the exams. If you want to do better than pass, then you need to spend more time on the subject than what's recomended. My advice to new students is to attend all lectures you have and complete your homework independently. Usually, lectures will cover all important points that you need to succeed in the unit.

To be honest, the course selection process of Macquarie University is a little bit confusing, especially to someone who is new to the university. And the enrolment process is very complicated that many students feel lost and exhausted in getting everything done. So try your best to attend the orientation because information covered will be useful.

For new students applying for this program, there is one scholarship for international students. The accounting program I am currently enrolled is quite tough. There are many homework and tests. As a result, more than 30 hours per week are spent on studying. But the things we study in this program are quite useful because it combines theory with practice very well. Most of the lecturers in this program have many years of working experience. Besides lectures, there are many English and writing skill workshops held by Macquarie English Centre which are also useful to attend.

Life is always difficult for new international students. But fear not, Macquarie International provides many chances for international students to get to know the city and make friends with local students. During each semester, MI will hold a wide range of activities such as trips to Blue Mountain and Canberra. Besides, I really enjoy the free BBQ and our Conception Day! Normally, finding a part-time job is hard for international students unless you have recommendation from your friends. So it is very important to explore your network.

Since I am still a student, there is not much information I can provide on this. Neverthless, based on previous students' feedback, accounting students graduating from Macquarie can usually find jobs in the accounting field because companies in Australia know this program has very strict and high standards and are therefore likely to prefer Macquarie graduates to graduates from some other universities.
