The dept of Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas has a well structured course in VLSI design which was my specific area in my final year at the undergraduate level. I had communicated with two extremely good professors at the helm of the research labs at the university. I was very happy with the program at Texas.

Got the visa easily but the guy kept on harping on the funding part, God knows why when I'd got a fellowship award too!! Sometimes the VOs can be difficult, just dont get flustered... remember to be calm and answer confidently.

I got a fellowship award from the Univ. This took care of 3/4th of the expenses. My parents funded the rest.

The dept has a couple of well equipped research labs dealing with analog IC design. The faculty were excellent, the experience that I gained with them teaching me helped me immensely.
