The experiences at Exeter helped me to obtain useful teaching skills and to develop good understanding of professional practice in UK higher education. Pursuing my PhD at the Exeter was certainly one of the most enjoyable and rewarding experiences in my life, and I am proud of being a graduate of the University.

The School financially contributed to my multidisciplinary research project enabling me to travel to international conferences and make useful contacts in the academic community around the world. During my studies, I had the opportunity to work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Economics.

During my PhD research I received the highest quality supervision and full support from my supervisor. His erudition continually inspired me with interesting ideas and confidence, and his open-mindedness allowed me to carry out my research within a truly liberal atmosphere. I particularly benefited from the Effective Researcher Development Programme. Its training courses helped me to develop useful skills in research project management and time management, and provided me with valuable insight on how to pursue an academic career in the UK. I also took an accredited training course 'Learning and Teaching in Higher Education Programme'.
