My advice to future students would be to ensure that you are choosing the course of your choice.

It was not difficult because UTAS is not as competitive as other top Australian universities in rank and my poly academic transcript was quite good. I applied through IDP and process was smooth. Obtaining visa was fast as I appointed IDP to apply on my behalf. Plan early and apply for visa at least 1 month in advance.

scholarship of 25% was awarded to international students who had good academic transcripts. It is an automatic process for all international students who apply for UTAS.

My course can be stressful and hectic at times but i find it stimulating and challenging. The best part is that the lecturers and tutors are competent and well-qualified, yet approachable and friendly towards us students. There is a great amount study support from extra tutorial classes FOC, online-recordings of lectures, and study materials from the library. Yes it is value for money because this uni course fees is the cheapest in the whole of Aus.

The library and computer labs are well equipped. However, printing and photocopying is quite expensive. The gym and canteens can be improved further. I enjoy most about the countryside is the fresh air and beautiful scenery everywhere and convenience of staying near school and city. I stay in a 4 room house shared with 3 other housemates for quite a good rent. It is possible to find part-time work but only if you can handle both studies and work at the same time. I'm not sure how effective is the student union but I am part of the Singapore Students Society (who are actively organising events) and take part in many fun and interesting events held by the Tasmanian University Law Society. Yes there are some clubs and activities for international students.

Yes definitely, because I can't be a practicing lawyer if I do not have a basic law degree. I am not sure about an alumni association but will join if there's one.
