My experience of organising and working in projects and in groups has facilitated my project management skills, and developed my interpersonal relationships as well as team-working skills. These skills have greatly benefited me as they allowed me to undertake the job I now hold.

Through my studies at undergraduate level in international business I had built up a strong interest in information technology, so I chose to do the MSc in e-Business and Innovation at Lancaster University. Through the whole year of study, I not only acquired integrated knowledge of business management and e-business technology, but importantly for me I developed greatly my problem-solving and communication skills. Course modules, such as the Innovation module and Project Management module, gave many opportunities to work and discuss things as a team. My experience of organising and working in projects and in groups has facilitated my project management skills, and developed my interpersonal relationships as well as team-working skills. These skills have greatly benefited me as they allowed me to undertake the job I now hold.

At present, I am working as a project manager for the Lee Kai Hung Foundation (based in Manchester), a charitable organisation dedicated to educating and supporting Chinese students in the UK. At the moment we are focussed on a Cultural Project, the ‘Chinese Living Museum’. My principal duties are market research, data analysis, and translating materials and organising relevant activities. For me, I found the EBIN course was invaluable to get competences for my personal development. Whilst you may not necessarily go on to work in this sector, the experience and the knowledge you build can help you be confident to go for any job.
