The International Office and its staff (especially my International Officer Paul Woods) were very helpful, warm and understanding and the process was very smooth.

The International Office informed me of the Accomodation Scholarship available for the first year students and helped let me know whether my statement of purpose for it was as required.

Loved the course, especially all the Creative Writing seminars and workshops. The CW department are excellent and very helpful and sympathetic if you're in need of anything. (It helps the 'cozy' feel that the number of students is pretty small ... makes it easier for all to get comfortable with the fellow students and hence makes it easier to share and learn) The Media Department seemed a bit unorganised in terms of what we were taught in lectures, what we discussed in seminars and what we were eventually expected to do in our assignments. The syllabus for Media Studies could have been better arranged or modified. But some of the lectures were very helpful and interesting and I generally enjoyed the assignments we were set.

The Edge Hill campus is lovely and I'm really glad to continue staying there even for my 2nd year and hopefully my 3rd year as well. Quiet, calm, lovely atmosphere with regards all the trees and the pond and the ducks and the rabbits and the Ruff Woods, I love it! A lot of the students may think it's a bit too 'boring' but it suits my introverted creative nature to the T, especially when it comes for me to find a quiet corner to do my writing. Ormskirk in itself is quite a cute, charming town, albeit not exactly your hustling-bustling big city. It's a really safe place and grows on you quite easily so I really love it. Though being from a big metro like Mumbai, I missed the atmosphere but since Liverpool is so close by, it didn't matter that much. (Ormskirk because of its size has only so much to offer so it can get a bit boring. However big cities like Manchester, Liverpool, Bolton, Southport etc are within easy access by road or train) There aren't that many international students yet but the number's steadily growing and I expect the number to increase by the time I start my 2nd year in September. But it never mattered to me much because the British students were generally very friendly and open and accepted me pretty quickly. So I've already made some lovely friends.
