University life is definitely enjoyable for sure. I believe being open minded and accepting of the culture of wherever you are going. Make friends with international students from around the word, eg Egygt, Greece, Cyprus, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the local students as well. By doing so, you are exposed to many different cultures hence "spicing" up your life, they might even house you if you intend to go to their country for a holiday. Workwise consistency is key. Do your seminars on a regular basis and attend lectures, read up on the relevant books/articles and it should be fine. Expose yourself to their local clubs and organizations, that way you would get to know more people and in a way, enrich yourself.
I applied through UCAS online, gathering information from the British Council as well as friends who were applying to the UK. The details are all stated on the British Council website, pretty idiot-proof. The most important aspect to the application would be your personal essay as well recommendations from your tutor. The visa application process was relatively simple, just make sure that you encompass all the relevant documentations. I got my visa in 2 days. The most important document would be the financial back statements. The application process is relatively simple, obtain and organise the necessary documentations and everything would go smoothly.
Scholarships are offered to students who have brilliant results in their academic transcript.
I am doing a three year LLB degree, the best part of my degree is understanding the law do a deeper level and the knowledge gained. We take 6 modules per year, 3 for the first semester and 3 for the second semester. Three hour lectures are conducted per module every week. Seminars are an hour once every fortnight. The rest of it is self-study time. In total, it sums up to around 30-40 hours a week. So far, I am enjoying my course but I believe some improvements can be made. For instance, instead of merely academic examinations we should have mooting examinations as part of our course component. And I believe that seminars should be held every week and not fortnightly. If an hour per module fortnightly is the standard, then two hours per module would be more beneficial to the students.
The facilities in University of Manchester are relatively new and modern. The transportation system here is efficient and everything is very accessible. My accommodation (Ashburne Hall) is excellent although it is 2.4km away from school, the room is spacious, food is good and the people living in the hall are pretty decent. Part time work is possible, there is a career service that would assist you in that aspect.
A law degree in general is very versitile and lucrative.
