I had to take up the GRE and TOEFL for which it was mostly self study with some help from a Consultant. I did attend coaching classes and used the services of educational counselors. It was easy to get tickets, got them through some agents and flew through Lufthansa - US- Airways. Lufthansa was great, but US - Airways was terrible. Paid in India for my extra baggage. I Landed in Charlotte, near the university. Indian students organization from our univ. helped. Univ did have a pick up service, just in case for all int. stud.

Assistantships are few & tuition waivers for only some depts. & Phd students only.

I am satisfied with my prog. Profs are ok –ok types, easy to reach. Libraries are excellent. Lot of sports facilities available.

Currently living off-campus, just opp. the univ. Night life is amazing & so is the weather, very pleasant & City very beautiful. Indian student organization called “Triveni”. Have been actively involved with it. We do a lot of activities to help & assimilate students.

We have career centre on campus, it’s for fulltime & internship jobs only. We have job fairs each semester. A lot of local & international companies take part. Also people travel to other univ for their fairs too. Work permit process is perhaps the most intriguing & challenging we have an alumni association too. Some alumni’s do help & guide the students. They help in bringing companies & research funding to the univ & also help promote it.
