The Singapore Pastoral Institute began in 1978, mainly for conducting courses on the Bible, church teachings, pastoral training programs, catechetical workshops and to reach out to form, inform and train Catholics in Singapore especially lay animators and leaders in the Church. Courses at the Institute are Biblical Apostolate, Bible Courses, Biblical Speakers, Parish Courses, Pastoral Courses, Pastoral Speakers, Parish Pastoral Councils, Pastoral Reflections, Globalization and Gospel Sharing in Small Christian Communities.
